Ebmpapst AC external rotor motors operate at a constant speed and very low noise level. Due to the high inertia, the electric motors provide a constant speed under various loads.

Features and performance

• The engine design has been adapted and optimized;
• Compact body;
• Motors for thermostats and coolers are closed type and have a stainless steel shaft;
• All rotors are coated with black enamel;
• External rotor motors, available with electronic control (EC);
• Connecting 230V AC power is one of these options;
• Direction of rotation clockwise;
• Ball bearing is maintenance-free;
• Protection type IP 00.

Engine types

S = Shared-pole motor – self-starting, relatively low starting torque, low efficiency, limited range for speed control.

E = Single phase capacitor motor – comparatively high starting torque, good speed control properties resulting in less than optimum efficiency.

D = Three-phase motor – Steinmetz configuration with capacitor, high torque sliding, steep torque/speed ratio, high efficiency, high speed stability.
Exceptionally high starting torque, very good efficiency, good control speed.
